There are several effective monkeypox vaccines being developed by various countries and the Ministry of Health (MoH) is in the process of deciding which is suitable for Bruneian needs.
Also under consideration are anti-viral medication for monkeypox treatment.
This was said by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during a press conference on Monday.
He said this in response to a question regarding monkeypox being declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO) and whether the Sultanate is acquiring Imvanex vaccine developed by a Danish drugmaker and approved by the European Union (EU) in 2013.
