His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa‘adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam arrived in Singapore on Tuesday for a two-day State Visit.
Accompanying Their Majesties are His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah; and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah; as well as members of the royal family. Prior to departure from Istana Nurul Iman, Doa Selamat was recited by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam bid farewell to Their Majesties at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar. Also present to bid farewell were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria; Cabinet Ministers; members of the Privy Council; deputy ministers; the Commissioner of Police; and Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
Upon arrival at the Changi International Airport, Their Majesties were welcomed by Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lawrence Wong and spouse, Singaporean Minister of Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law Edwin Tong, as Minister-in-Attendance and Au Huey Ling as Lady-in-Attendance; and High Commissioner of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam Heng Aik Yeow and spouse.
Also present were Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof and spouse; and High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Singapore Dato Paduka Haji Sidek bin Ali and spouse.
The last State Visit of Their Majesties to Singapore was in July 2017 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Currency Interchangeability Agreement and attend the launching of the ‘Abode of Peace and the Lion City: A Brunei-Singapore Exhibition’ at the Singapore Philatelic Museum.
