The Magistrate’s Court yesterday ordered a 29-year-old local woman to settle a BND6,272 fine for being in possession of smuggled vape ‘juice’ found in her vehicle at the Jerudong Park parking lot.
Magistrate Syafiq bin Haji Zakaria ordered Siti Nurul Syafiqah binti Abdullah to serve six months’ jail in default of payment, after she pleaded guilty to possessing 84 vape and e-cigarettes pods, along with cash proceeds from sales of the contraband.
The court heard that customs preventive officers had inspected the defendant’s car at the parking lot on May 30. Officers also seized BND445 in defendant’s proceeds from sales of the contraband.
The court ordered the cash forfeited and the items destroyed.
