Two compounds and six warning notices were issued by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPS), Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) to eight commercial premises after they were found to have violated Chapter 142 of the Price Control Act.

Two commercial premises were issued with BND500 and BND700 compound fines for selling above the maximum price set by the DEPS under Chapter 142 of the Price Control Act, during a routine inspection by the Consumer Affairs Department.

Meanwhile, during the first two weeks of September, six warning notices were issued to six commercial premises, including a pharmacy for overpricing and displaying price tags not tallying with their payment system.

Businesses are advised to comply with the Price Control Act and its regulations, and are reminded to ensure fair and ethical business practices to develop a sustainable business environment.

Consumers are urged to use the PenggunaBijak mobile application.
