Data shows uptick in daily COVID-19 cases, says minister (10.10.2022)

Brunei Darussalam recorded an average of 307 COVID-19 cases per day last week, compared to 268 cases per day from the week before, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during the COVID-19 press conference on Monday.

 

on Monday, 355 new COVID-19 cases were reported from the submitted antigen rapid test (ART) results, said the minister.

 

Around 38,978 ART results were uploaded through the BruHealth app over one week, of which 5.5 per cent were tested positive for COVID-19, said the minister.

 

The minister said one COVID-19 case has passed away, however the death was not categorised as due to COVID-19.

 

The minister expressed condolences to the family.

 

Meanwhile, there are no COVID-19 cases in Category 5 requiring treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and only one case in Category 4 requiring respiratory assistance and close monitoring, said the minister.

 

The minister said 78.5 per cent of citizens and residents have received the third dose of the vaccine and 10.6 per cent with a fourth dose.

 

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin was also in attendance.
