A former senior immigration officer facing two graft charges for gifts of carpets was ordered to continue to be held in custody while further investigations are ongoing.
Former senior chief immigration officer Seruji bin Haji Setia, 52, is alleged to have received over BND2,000 in carpet gifts from a company connected with the official function of the defendant, who was the Head of Work Pass Section, in January and April.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Rozaimah Abdul Rahman informed court that the Anti-Corruption Bureau is further probing the case.
Senior Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman ordered the defendant remanded and adjourned the case for further mention on November 3.
