The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as the Secretariat of the Special National Coordinating Committee for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Brunei Darussalam organised a three- day second voluntary national review (VNR) workshop for Brunei Darussalam at the theatre hall of the PMO.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, the guest of honour, launched the workshop.
Deputy Ministers at the Prime Minister’s Office, Permanent Secretary (Wawasan) at the PMO Pengiran Hajah Siti Nirmala binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad, chairperson of the Special National Coordinating Committee for Sustainable Development Goals of Brunei Darussalam as well as United Nations Resident Coordinator in Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore Karima El Korri were also present.
The objective of the workshop, which ends on November 2, is to support the preparation of the VNR report for Brunei Darussalam which will be presented to a high-level political forum on sustainable development in 2023.
The workshop shared and discussed whole-of-nation efforts as well as challenges and way forward in implementing SDGs.
Members and secretariat to the JKPK SDGs, representatives from the government, United Nations agencies, private sector, non-governmental organisation (NGO), civil societies, academic institutions, private sector, youth, and financial institutions also attended the workshop, which concludes tomorrow.
