The second edition of the Brunei History Race Challenge is set to return on November 20 after it was postponed last year due to COVID-19.

Principal of Brunei History Centre Dr Haji Muhammad Hadi bin Haji Muhammad Melayong said that the challenge hopes to bring youth and students closer to the nation’s history during a press conference yesterday. “This initiative will be a unique method to disseminate our heritage and the Islamic arts, particularly those in Bandar Seri Begawan,” he said.

The event aims to promote the capital as a city with an interesting and unique history and raise awareness on its monuments and other landmarks in the country.

He hopes the programme this year will benefit every level of the community in realising a healthy lifestyle, aside from appreciating monuments and historical sites.

The Brunei History Race Challenge will take place at the Brunei History Centre and its surrounding premises during the running of the Bandarku Ceria event.

The main event will have 144 participants in 48 teams of three.

Meanwhile, side events such as aerobics, Teqball tournament and Beyblade competition, food and drinks stalls and a showcase of antiques cars and bicycles will also be held.
