The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) has ordered to isolation of all products produced by MISUNG Family Co Ltd, South Korea after it was discovered their Hershey’s Marshmallow Hot Choco contains non-halal ingredients.
The ministry said the beverage contained gelatin sourced from pork, which was confirmed by the company after it was contacted by the Syariah Affairs Department following public complaints who had doubted the halal status of the product.
According to MoRA, the company said the dehydrated marshmallow used as one of the product’s ingredients contained gelatin sourced from pork.
