No fatalities due to COVID-19

Brunei Darussalam recorded 281 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said at the daily press conference on Monday, adding that no COVID-19 fatalities were recorded in the past 24 hours.

 

Of the latest figure, the minister said 269 were detected through antigen rapid test (ART), while 12 of the 456 reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) laboratory tests conducted in the past 24 hours returned positive.

 

The total number of cases reported to date is 138,811.

 

Meanwhile, two Category 5 cases are being treated at the intensive care unit (ICU), while three Category 4 cases are provided oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring, said the minister.

 

On the number of recoveries on Monday, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham shared that 110 cases have recovered, bringing the tally of recovered cases to 136,183.

 

Meanwhile, the number of active cases stand at 2,413, 49 of whom are being treated at hospitals, while 2,364 are undergoing home self-isolation.

 

Additionally, the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme statistics remained the same in the previous day, at 13.2 per cent for children aged five to 11 with one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 62.2 per cent of the populace having received three doses of the vaccine, due to all vaccination centres not operating on Monday, said the minister.

 

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin also attended.
