Local runner Ruzaini Mahadi made back-to-back wins in running meets after adding the 10-kilometre (km) Power Run Men’s Open of the Guardian Fun Run 2023 Brunei Edition to his collection of domestic honours at the Taman Sir Haji Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien on Sunday.
The long distance runner enjoyed a victory in consecutive weekends after edging rival Muhammad Haziq Syazwan Hermanti by 0.01 seconds (s).
Ruzaini, who clocked a time of 33.57s to win the title, said in an interview with the Bulletin, “Honestly, I realise winning doesn’t always mean getting first place, it’s the effort that matters and also getting the best out of myself.”
