ANN/ THE STAR – The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) received a shot in the arm after their men’s singles shuttler Ng Tze Yong and mixed doubles rising stars Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei were included in the Road to Gold (RTG) programme.
There was also good news for independent players as Lee Zii Jia (men’s singles) and Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing (mixed doubles) will not be dropped although they are out of the top 10 in the world ranking.
Zii Jia is taking a temporary break from competitions to return stronger after his first round defeat in the Indonesian Open.
