Their crimes carries a penalty of 30 years’ maximum jail with a minimum of 12 canings

A gang of five men were charged with concerted robbery in the Intermediate Court on Monday.

 

Muhammad Kamarul bin Kamsul, 30; Hamdan bin Juki, 34; and Mohammad Amir Rashid Al-Islam bin Abdul Rahman, 33, have pleaded guilty to robbing a 45-year-old foreign man of a gold necklace and BND3,000 on March 21.

 

Prosecutor Atiyyah Abas’ charge against the trio of gang robbery and causing fear to the victim carries a penalty of 30 years’ maximum jail with a minimum of 12 canings.

 

Judge Radin Safiee bin Radin Mas Basiuni adjourned the case against the trio to April 30.

 

Meanwhile, Sardini bin Mohd Salleh, 44, and Mohammad Madani bin Abdullah Lai @ Lai Chung Sien, 42, have denied the same charge.

 

The duo applied for bail which will be heard in court tomorrow.
