With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, male and female congregations are allowed to attend Sunnat Aidilfitri prayers in mosques, suraus and religious halls throughout the country with physical distancing in accordance with the sizes of the prayer mats.

 

This was announced by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman at the daily press conference on Saturday.

 

The minister said the guidelines will be extended to Friday and five-times-a-day prayers beginning first of Syawal, 1443 Hijrah, adding that, children aged 11 and under are not allowed to attend.
