Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre announced the setting up of state-of-the-art laser services at Maxillofacial, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Centre, located at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital complex.

This service adds additional capacity for improving some conditions in the face which cannot be treated entirely by surgery, for example acne scars. The lasers added to the service are Cutera Excel V, CO2, radiofrequency, medlite C6. In addition, the centre also has microdermabrasion services.

Dual wavelength lasers with interchangeable hand pieces provide greater opportunity for treating benign vascular lesions of the skin and pigmented lesions of the skin by selectively targetting the blood pigment and melanin, without causing thermal damage to surrounding tissues.

These lasers can also be used to remove tattoos. They are also useful in the treatment of early red scars and thin veins on the face. Other advantages of these lasers are for the removal of unwanted fine hair, sunspots, photodamage, and improving wrinkles on the face thus contributing to skin rejuvenation.
