The Magistrate’s Court on Thursday sentenced a Bangladeshi national to six months’ jail with three whippings after he pleaded guilty to overstaying for just over two years from the expiry of his employment pass.
Immigration prosecutor Hadiyatul Majeedah binti Awang Usin informed the court that the defendant, 31-year-old Md Golam Rabbani, was arrested at 9.11am on September 7 at the Immigration and National Registration Department office when the defendant sought repatriation.
