The new Community First Aid programme is in line with the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MoHA) aim to have one first aider per household by 2035 as well as Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society’s (BRC) target to have one first aider per household by 2030.
Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman said this during the launch of the programme yesterday. The minister said the programme will be carried out in two phases – training of trainer; and first aider training – to provide skills for mukim and village residents including penghulu and village heads as well as mukim and village consultative council members as community first aiders.
Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin said they will provide assistance during emergency situations including accidents and natural disasters.
