His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam underlined the importance of the Strategic Partnership between Brunei and Laos in deepening cooperation across many sectors, including in the new areas of agriculture and energy, during a courtesy call yesterday with President of the National Assembly of Laos Dr Xaysomphone Phomvihane.
His Majesty also extended congratulations to the President of the National Assembly of Laos as the incoming President of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and encouraged both the Legislature Council of Brunei Darussalam and the National Assembly of Laos to explore ways in further strengthening cooperation in the future.
Earlier, His Majesty first received Prime Minister of Laos Sonexay Siphandone, in which both leaders recalled the warm and long-standing ties shared between Brunei Darussalam and Laos in mutually beneficial areas of cooperation including education, defence and people-to-people exchanges.
