Awards of Merit from the Japanese government were presented to four contributors of past ASEAN-Japan cooperation activities.
They were Head of Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT) of Cyber Security Brunei (CSB) Haji Mas Zuraime bin Haji Abdul Hamid; Musashino Institute for Global Affairs of the Musashino University Fellow Professor Ryozo Hayashi; co-founder and chairman of the Indonesia Cyber Awareness and Resilience Center (IdCARE) at the University of Indonesia Dr Muhammad Salman; and expert at the Supervisory Policy and Standard Center Electronic Transactions Development Agency of the Thai Ministry of Digital Economy and Society Thongchai Sangsiri.
The commendation ceremony was held to honour individuals who have made significant contributions in the field of cybersecurity in ASEAN-Japan.
