The Ministry of Health (MoH) is set to close several swab centres nationwide starting today.

This was announced by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during the daily press conference on Friday.

The decision was made after taking into account the progressively stable and controlled COVID-19 situation in Brunei Darussalam as well as the reduced demand for swab services in the country.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said, “Commencing tomorrow (May 7), several swab centres in Brunei-Muara District and Tutong District will close.”

He continued, “These are Bridex Drive-Through Swab Centre, Berakas Health Centre Swab Centre, Pengkalan Batu Health Centre Swab Centre; and Sungai Kelugos Health Centre Swab Centre.

“Members of the public in these two districts requiring the service can obtain it at the Sports Complex Swab Centre, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital.”

“Meanwhile swab testing for inbound and outbound travellers,” the minister added, “Will be performed by accredited private clinics, also commencing tomorrow (May 7).

“These services will no longer be conducted at government swab centres.”

The accredited private clinics are listed on the MoH website, and include Noor Rohaya Clinic; Jerudong Park Medical Centre; Panaga Health Centre; Dr Amir Clinic; UNI Clinic; Lee Clinic and Dispensary; Yong Clinic and Dispensary; Kare Medical Clinic and CY Lim Clinic.

The public can contact the accredited private clinics to book an appointment for swab services.
