Brunei reports 249 new virus cases (09.05.2022)

Brunei Darussalam detected 249 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, 236 of which were results from antigen rapid tests while 13 were from RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.

 

The national tally of confirmed cases is now 143,107, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar while sharing the latest updates on the COVID-19 situation in the Sultanate during the daily press conference on Monday.

 

No COVID-19 fatalities were recorded.

 

The minister said there are no cases in Category 5 requiring treatment at intensive care unit.

 

However, two cases in Category 4 are receiving respiratory assistance and under close monitoring.

 

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham also said 30 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 141,836.

 

The total number of active cases is now at 1,052 with 26 being treated at hospitals, and 1,026 undergoing self-isolation at home.

 

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin also attended the press conference.
