Performing umrah is getting popular among Bruneians during December as the month-long school holiday allows them to bring along their family members to perform umrah rituals, said As Safa Travel & Tours Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pengiran Haji Mohd Naasiruddeen bin Pengiran Haji Yusoff.
“The favourable chilly weather in Madinah and Makkah is also an appealing factor. The long hiatus following the COVID-19 pandemic led to the disruption of overseas travels over the past three years and also caused a back log in travels among Bruneians,” he said during an interview with the Weekend Bulletin.
Eighteen umrah pilgrims under As Safa Travel & Tours were briefed at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque yesterday prior to their inaugural departure flight on December 15 via Jakarta, Indonesia to Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
