Tropical storm Jelawat is expected to indirectly influence local weather as it moves westwards from the southeast sea by the Philippines, said the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) on Sunday.
The department said the storm was observed 1,600 kilometres away from the sultanate at 7.8°N 129.3°E at around 8am on Sunday.
While the storm is forescast to move westwards, it should remain far from the Sultanate, said BDMD.
