Radisson Hotel Brunei, in cooperation with the Tourism Development Department of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) organised the second Taste of Brunei in conjunction with the Brunei Gastronomy Week 2022.

Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong attended the event.

This year’s event featured 10 young local chefs – Muris, U’zaiz, Aziz Mokhsen, JD, Izzat, Dayangku Almas, Izaaz, Wiqa, Kahar and Eileen.

Among the dishes served were Tarung Betunu; Reconstructed Congee; Kubah Kerang; Udang Bumbu Kunyit; Kambing Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api; Nasi Lemak Reimagined; Hibiscus and Chendol Udon.

Some 60 orders were received for the Taste of Brunei 2022.

The event aimed to prop up talented young local chefs in the culinary scene while promoting and serving local dishes made into fine-dining cuisines that meet international standards.

MC Maju Cold Storage Sdn Bhd, PDS Abbatoir Sdn Bhd, Farmgate Trading, TBT Sdn Bhd, as well as Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) also supported the event.

Through the event, it is hoped to attract interest among local youth to venture into culinary, global standards.
