An alleged highway murder case will undergo trial throughout August, as ordered by the High Court on Wednesday.
Mohamad Khairulnizam bin Ali Noh earlier denied charges of armed attack, theft and murder. He was accused of murdering two women, aged 23 and 70, on the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Highway between October 5 and 10 in 2017.
He is also alleged to have stolen a vehicle from the 70-year-old woman from Kampong Tanjong Nangka during that period.
The defendant is also purported to have attacked a man with a knife and cutting his neck on October 4, 2017.
Defence counsel Haji Zainidi bin Haji Abdul Hamid is representing the defendant on legal aid.
The prosecution is led by DPP Hajah Suriana binti Haji Radin with Shamshuddin bin Haji Kamaluddin and Mohd Qamarul Affiyan bin Abdul Rahman.
Chief Justice Dato Seri Paduka Steven Chong presided over the case on Wednesday, assisted by Judicial Commissioner Muhammed Faisal bin Pehin Datu Juragan Laila Diraja Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Kefli.
