Five individuals comprising three Dusun and two Chinese individuals embraced the Islamic faith in a ceremony at the Belait District Islamic Da’wah Centre on Friday.
The ceremony began with husband and wife, Munan bin Lupa, 72 and Liat binti Belanda, 68, of Dusun ethnicity embracing the Islamic faith. They are now known as Muhammad Hasnan bin Abdullah Lupa and Siti Salmah binti Abdullah Belanda.
Meanwhile, Sairein bin Serungi, a 24-year-old of Dusun ethnicity also recited the Syahadah and embraced his new Muslim name Muhammad Sairein bin Serungi.
