The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy found five businesses violating offences under Chapter 142 of the Price Control Act during a month joint inspection between JPES and Department of Consumer Affairs with the Weights and Measure Unit (SDT).
The operation dubbed Operasi Sepadu saw JPES issuing fines to the business premises for failing to comply with the Act.
A retail shop in Tutong District was fined BND500 for selling cooking oil above the maximum price, while another retail shop was also fined BND500 for failing to display prices on some of the items found in the business premises.
