The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) is considering the application for an alternative local airline by Gallop Air Sdn Bhd and AeroAsia Holdings Corporation to be based in the Sultanate, considering it is now at the pre-application stage.
Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha revealed this while delivering his ministry’s budget during the 20th session of the Legislative Council meeting on Wednesday.
Their application received local media coverage and MTIC through the Department of Civil Aviation is considering the proposal to increase the number of flights, passenger movement and cargo towards optimising the Brunei International Airport capacity at present and its expansion, if needed.
