A local man was fined BND34,000 by the Magistrate’s Court for possessing smuggled cigarettes on Thursday.
Ahmad bin Haji Othman, 63, would have to serve 14 months’ jail in default of payment.
Magistrate Abdul ‘Azim bin Othman heard from the customs prosecutor that the defendant was arrested at a house in RPN Kampong Rimba on November 22, 2022.
