Courts fined and imprisoned five foreign nationals for immigration violations, said the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the department, 64-year-old Filipino Madon Jailani Marrok was sentenced to nine months in prison and a BND800 fine in lieu of whipping for overstaying after his immigration pass had expired.
He had his prison sentence extended to 10 months after he failed to pay the fine.
