Some 25 community leaders along with mukim and village consultative council members from Mukim Belait participated in a two-day-long Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) programme at the Kampong Pandan Community Hall yesterday. The programme is an annual project by the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) to raise community awareness about the roles of various agencies and departments involved in disaster management.
The agencies and departments included the NDMC, the Belait District Office, the Fire and Rescue Department, the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department, the Brunei Darussalam Climate Change Office at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Public Works Department, and the Emergency Medical Ambulance Services.
