An ‘Amazing Race’ event raising awareness and support for youth with disabilities was launched at Peak Club on Sunday.
The Uniklearn Amazing Race, organised by An-Nur Harapan, saw 27 teams participating in a series of interactive tasks and activities designed to enhance the understanding of the non-governmental organisation and its flagship Uniklearn programme.
Participants received ‘letter tokens’ spelling “U-N-I-K-L-E-A-R-N” upon completing nine challenges spread throughout the Peak Club.
Among the participants was Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah binti Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah.
The race was also an opportunity for the nine Uniklearn trainees to hone their social interaction skills, where they were tasked with presenting letter tokens to participants upon the completion of challenges.
The event, supported by imagine Sdn Bhd and Peak Performance Sdn Bhd, had 75 volunteers and committee members participate in running and organising the event. the collective effort underscored the community’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society where differently-abled individuals are empowered to lead independent lives. – Fadley Faisal
