After an intense and inspiring week of football, the Falcon Sports squad returned from their Malaysia Tour, having completed five highly competitive matches against some of the region’s top youth academies.
The team faced KLYS Academy, Kingstown Klang FC, Young Guns FC, ICMS Junior Academy and First International Soccer Academy Malaysia, concluding the tour with a strong record of two wins, two draws, and one loss.
The tour fulfilled its core objective of providing exposure, opportunity and international football experience to Brunei’s promising young players. The initiative featured a handpicked squad of youth players from various clubs and school programmes across Brunei, and was described by both parents and players as an eye-opening experience.
Many noted the stark differences in playing style, intensity, and tactical approach – aspects not commonly encountered in local grassroots football.
“We’re extremely proud of what the boys achieved,” said team manager Sarah Alisa Shazali. “This tour wasn’t just about results. It was about showing them what football looks like beyond our borders, giving them a platform to learn, grow, and believe in themselves. And they delivered.”
Parents also expressed their appreciation for the level of professionalism maintained throughout the tour, from the quality of coaching to the competitive nature of the matches.
“This is exactly the kind of experience our kids need,” shared one parent. “It pushed them out of their comfort zone and showed them how much more they’re capable of.”
With the team now back in Brunei, the Falcon Sports Malaysia Tour stands as a milestone in the development of local youth football. Coaches and management remain committed to building on the momentum, with plans already underway for future international opportunities. – James Kon & Daniel Lim
