(ANN/THE KOREAN HERALD) – K-pop sensation BLACKPINK made a powerful comeback on Friday with the release of their digital single Jump, which has since topped the iTunes charts in 47 countries, according to YG Entertainment.

The track marks BLACKPINK’s first group release in nearly three years, following their second full-length album Born Pink in September 2022—excluding The Girls, which was part of a video game soundtrack.

Jump signals a new musical direction for the quartet, blending cinematic Western-style guitar riffs with the group’s distinctive vocals. YG Entertainment described the single as having “an addictive chorus” and showcasing a transformation from their previous charismatic style.

The song was produced by longtime BLACKPINK collaborators Teddy and 24, alongside international lyricists and composers. The music video, which premiered alongside the single, was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Dave Meyers, known for his work with major global artists.

BLACKPINK performed Jump live for the first time last weekend during their Deadline world tour at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium, just outside Seoul. The tour will continue across 15 cities worldwide, including stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Paris, Milan, London, and Bangkok.
