Two officers from the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Siti Syuhaidah binti Haji Mohd Yusoff and Nurul’ain binti Mohd Redzuan @ Jasmona Anak Janteang participated in the 2025 Da’i/Da’iyah Competency Strengthening Training Programme in Indonesia, organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia as the coordinating country.
Participants engaged in several presentation sessions focusing on the concepts and values of religious moderation, efforts to counter the threat of terrorism in the context of religion and nationhood, and strengthening the relationship between religion and the state based on the four national pillars.
Also highlighted are the role of religious moderation as the spirit of dakwah rahmatan lil ‘alamin and discussions on Islam and ecology. Participants visited Istiqlal Mosque and the Qur’an Museum, providing added value to their experience and appreciation throughout the programme.
The three-day programme, which runs until today at Hotel Sunlake in North Jakarta, Indonesia, is themed ‘Teknis Penguatan Kompetensi Penceramah Agama Islam’.
It is one of the initiatives under the Strategic Focus ‘Religious Education and Appreciation’ in the MABIMS Strategic Plan 2021–2025.
This participation is coordinated by the MABIMS Secretariat of Brunei Darussalam, which acts as the liaison and coordinator for the country’s participation in programmes under the MABIMS Strategic Plan 2021–2025 framework. – Lyna Mohamad
