Second batch of students arrive in Egypt to further studies

The second flight carrying 57 Bruneian students to Egypt arrived at Cairo International Airport yesterday. The second group comprises 36 male and 21 female students pursuing undergraduate studies at Al-Azhar University and Mahad Qiraat Shoubra, Egypt.

One student is furthering studies under the Sultan’s Scholar Scholarship Award from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah while nine students are under the Ministry of Religious Affairs Scholarship. Four students are under the Education Loan Assistance Scheme (SBPP) with 43 students self-financing.

The group departed from Brunei International Airport to Kuala Lumpur International Airport yesterday afternoon, before continuing their journey to Hamad International Airport, Qatar and subsequently arriving at Cairo International Airport, Egypt. Officials from the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Cairo, Egypt welcomed the students at Cairo International Airport.
