A patrol by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) led to the arrest of a local man and the seizure of various prohibited and undeclared goods in Temburong.
According to the RBPF, personnel from the Bangar Police Station conducted a patrol operation along the Sungai Temburong area on Monday and discovered a 35-year-old local man allegedly receiving suspected contraband items from a boat at a jetty area in Kampong Puni.
The suspect was later detained at his residence.
Further inspections uncovered various prohibited and undeclared items, including three Nex Parabola receivers, 13 Astro Ultra receivers, 16 Astro Go Beyond receivers, 30 low-noise block downconverters (LNB), 10 kilogrammes of chicken wings, 22 boxes of duck liver, 264 tins of Jagmac Tobacco and 20 packets of PanParag Supreme chewing tobacco.
The suspect and all seized items were handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further investigation and action.
The RBPF reminded the public that smuggling activities and failure to declare goods to the authorities are offences under the law.
