The Immigration and National Registration Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs has conducted four enforcement operations under “Operasi Kakas JIPK 2026” across several locations in Brunei Darussalam. Across all four operations, a total of 38 foreign nationals were inspected, with seven individuals detained for further investigation.
The operations were carried out by the department’s Law Enforcement Division in Bandar Seri Begawan and Kuala Belait, targeting multiple sites including a children’s playground in Mukim Berakas ‘A’, rental houses in Mukim Kianggeh and Mukim Kota Batu, as well as surrounding areas in Mukim Belait.
Those detained are suspected of committing various offences under the Immigration Act, Chapter 17, including overstaying in the country, failing to produce valid travel documents, not working for their original employer, and working in positions not stated in their passports.
The detained individuals have been brought to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation.
