A Bruneian contingent comprising six athletes secured an impressive haul of 19 medals at the Singapore Masters International Track and Field Championships 2026, held at the Stadium Boulevard Home of Athletes, Kallang Hub, from June 6-7.
The team was led by Brunei Masters Athletics Association team manager Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Pungut.
Among the standout performers was Haji Tiang bin Haji Mudin, who claimed three gold medals and one silver, while Siti Diah binti Jani secured three gold medals.
Hajah Maria Metussin added two gold and two silver medals, while Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Pungut contributed two gold medals to the tally.
Mohd Nasrul bin Budin won three silver medals and one bronze, while Hajah Minah binti Haji Damit secured two silver medals.
The achievements highlighted Brunei’s strong showing at the regional masters athletics championship. – DANIEL LIM
