Baiduri Bank on Monday signed a series of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with strategic partners ahead of the Baiduri Masters 2026, one of Brunei Darussalam’s longest-running charity golf events.
The signing ceremony was held at the QAF Auto Showroom and marks preparations for the 28th edition of the annual tournament, which has evolved into a major fundraising platform supporting local charitable organisations.
Present at the ceremony were Baiduri Bank Chief Executive Officer Ti Eng Hui; Baiduri Bank Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Group Treasury and Institutional Banking and Baiduri Masters 2026 President Pengiran Azaleen Pengiran Dato Haji Mustapha; QAF Group of Companies Chief Executive Officer Albert Lau; QAF Auto General Manager Alisa Khoo; QAF Prestige Deputy General Manager Daniel Loo; and Brunei Press Sdn Bhd General Manager Anafiah Omar.
In his welcoming remarks, Ti Eng Hui said that Baiduri Masters is now recognised as one of the largest charitable platforms in the country and the biggest golf tournament in Brunei Darussalam.
He said the tournament is more than just a sporting competition, serving as a platform that brings together individuals, organisations and the wider community in support of various charitable causes.
“Since its introduction in 1995, Baiduri Masters has continued to grow in both scale and impact. Each year, hundreds of golfers and a wide range of stakeholders come together to play a role in helping those in need.
“At the heart of this tournament is the aim of creating a platform where participation can be translated into meaningful impact. Since 2024, our commitment to channel 100 per cent of golfers’ registration fees directly to charitable organisations has further strengthened that purpose,” he said.
He added that what makes Baiduri Masters unique is its ability to evolve into something greater than a golf tournament.
“At its core, it is about giving back. Whether someone participates as a player, supports the event as a sponsor or contributes behind the scenes, every individual plays an important role. The fact that all registration fees are donated directly to charitable organisations gives the tournament even greater significance,” he said.
Ti also expressed appreciation to QAF Group of Companies, which has been a strategic partner since the early years of the tournament.
According to him, the company’s continued support has helped ensure the sustainability and growth of Baiduri Masters, enabling it to develop into a charitable event with a significant impact on the community.
He also thanked QAF Auto and QAF Prestige for sponsoring this year’s hole-in-one prizes, and acknowledged the support of Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata in helping to promote the tournament and expand its reach to the wider public.
Three memoranda of understanding were signed during the ceremony.
The first agreement, between Baiduri Bank and QAF Auto Sdn Bhd, was signed on behalf of Baiduri Bank by Ti and Pengiran Azaleen, while Albert Lau signed for QAF Auto. Alisa Khoo witnessed the signing.
The second MoU, between Baiduri Bank and QAF Prestige Sdn Bhd, was also signed by Ti and Pengiran Azaleen on behalf of Baiduri Bank. Albert Lau signed on behalf of QAF Prestige, with Daniel Loo serving as witness.
The third agreement involved Baiduri Bank and Brunei Press Sdn Bhd. Ti and Pengiran Azaleen signed on behalf of Baiduri Bank, while Anafiah Omar signed for Brunei Press.
Funds raised through the tournament will be distributed to five local charitable organisations this year: La Vida, SMARTER Brunei, Learning Ladders Society, Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam and An-Nur Harapan.
The organisations provide various forms of assistance and support to children, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups within the community.
According to organisers, the 2025 edition attracted more than 800 participants and raised BND82,000 for charitable causes.
The Baiduri Masters 2026 tournament is scheduled to begin on August 7 at the Mentiri Golf Club and will be played over two weekends, concluding on August 16.
Participants will compete for the Green Jacket and Challenge Trophy, while hole-in-one prizes sponsored by partners include a BMW X3, Porsche Macan EV, MINI Cooper and a cash prize of BND20,000.
Organisers said the inclusion of electric vehicles among the prizes reflects ongoing efforts to promote sustainability initiatives in line with Baiduri Bank’s environmental commitments.
Registration for the tournament will open on June 29. Entry fees remain at BND120 for the men’s, women’s and senior categories, while junior participants will pay BND60.
Online registration will be available through the Pocket application, while registration forms can also be obtained from Mentiri Golf Club.
