Bruneian athlete Abdul Azim bin Nadzri secured second place in the Individual RX Male category at Borneo Pangazou 2026, held from August 21-23, 2026, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

Organised by the Sabah Functional Fitness Association, the three-day competition featured Individual RX, Individual Intermediate, Teen, Team Open and Team Masters divisions.

Azim, who represented Hybrid Movement Brunei, competed against a field of 16 athletes from across the region in the Individual RX Male division, finishing second overall after three days of competition. The RX Male title went to Matt Cass of the United States, representing North Naples CrossFit, while Azim took second for Brunei and Hybrid Movement, and Varrian Iduari Peter of Malaysia, representing CrossFit Johor Bahru, was placed third.

Meanwhile, another Bruneian athlete, Al Asyraf Azlan, was placed third in the Individual Intermediate Male category, competing against Bruneian athletes in the Intermediate division.

Azim’s runner-up finish in the RX division adds another podium result for Brunei on the regional functional fitness stage, competing alongside athletes from across the region and beyond. – Daniel Lim
