Over 500 new COVID-19 cases for second day (14.06.2022)

Daily new COVID-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remained at over the 500 mark for the second consecutive day.

 

The Sultanate detected 522 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, of which 521 were from antigen rapid tests (ARTs) and one from 381 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.

 

This brings the total number of cases in the country to 154,133.

 

The statistics of COVID-19 cases were released on the Ministry of Health’s online and social media platforms on Tuesday.

 

The ministry also shared that there is one case in Category 5 requiring treatment in the intensive care unit, and one case in Category 4 requiring respiratory assistance and under close monitoring.

 

There were no fatalities due to COVID-19 recorded in the past 24 hours.

 

A total of 315 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 150,865.

 

There are 3,043 active cases, with 14 treated in hospitals, and 3,029 undergoing home self-isolation.

 

On the COVID-19 vaccination for children aged five to 11, the coverage rate for first dose is 84 per cent and the second dose is 68.7 per cent.

 

The coverage rate of those in the country who have received three doses remains at 71.9 per cent.
