Lead singer Chris Martin read the poem in Malay to the ecstatic audience:
"Pergi kedai membeli sayur,
Masak tomyam bersama bonda,
Coldplay sekarang di Kuala Lumpur,
Payung lagu favourite anda."
But Martin's special treat for Malaysian fans did not end there.
Despite performing in the rain for the entire show, the band took it a step further by singing a two-minute song about the beauty of Malaysian rain.
"I have been to Europe, I have been to Spain, but there is nothing quite as beautiful as the Malaysian rain. Whenever I am down, whenever I am in pain, I love to stand in Malaysian rain," he sang.
